The charming community of Farmingville is located in the town of Brookhaven. Home to Brookhaven Town Hall, Brookhaven Amphitheater and Bald Hill, Farmingville enjoys a strong sense of community as an integral part of Brookhaven town. Farmingville was the subject of a 2004 documentary about undocumented workers entitled, “Farmingville.” Despite the film’s controversial topic, it displays the diversity of Farmingville’s residents.
Farmingville’s agricultural past has largely been replaced by commerce and industry, although the landscape is still open and full of trees and natural beauty. Farmingville’s Bald Hill is the highest point on Long Island and features a veteran’s memorial. Many Farmingville residents commute to jobs in the city. Farmingville boasts a low crime rate and community organizers have worked to keep the city landscaped and to revitalize streets.
